Meet the Organizers

Agile Open Canada is run by volunteer organizers that are affiliated with local Agile groups in different western Canadian cities

Calgary

Jonathan Hyatt

Jonathan first started practicing Agile in 2000 while working for a security start-up. Since then, he has worked as an independent technology consultant using a variety of Agile methodologies for software development. He has a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Calgary, is a Certified Scrum Master, a PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner), a Certified Agile Coach and holds a Certificate in Project Management from MRU. Jonathan is a volunteer organizer for Calgary Agile Methods User Group and Agile Open Canada. He enjoys cross-country & downhill mountain biking, snowboarding, mountaineering as well as technology.

Eric Gagnon

Eric is a PSM I and SAFe Agilist certified scrum master who enjoys giving back to the Agile community that has given him so much. As a developer and then a scrum master he has worked on projects of all sizes in Canada and the United States. In his spare time, he walks his dog Amy (Farrah Fowler), bikes, snowboards with his wife and son and snowmobiles in the mountains. He is a rare individual who can’t wait for winter to arrive every year.

Vancouver

James Shew

James has been some sort of agilist for about 4 years and been agile-minded for much longer. He helps teams and companies try to reconcile the ridiculousness of their processes and mindset with reality; trying to help them focus on what they really want to do through coaching, facilitation, mentoring, and other trickery. Every once in a while he has an introspective moment to explore his own ridiculous mindset, gets scared, and then loads up Netflix. When he isn’t working (or watching Netflix) you might find him playing hockey, volleyball, or making self-deprecating jokes in (un)conference bios.

Klaus Boedker

Klaus is an agile coach with Scott Ambler + Assiociates, facilitator of change, and plays with LEGO any chance he gets. He uses play-with-a-purpose, disciplined agile, and human-centred design to enable organizations to sense and adapt to change. He is a big believer in openness and transparency, and in sharing your experiences and insights for the better of the community. He looks forward to connecting at the Open Space.

Victoria

Mack Adams

Kristi Meredith

Kristi is a Scrum Master & Agile Coach Consultant based in Victoria.
